Storyboard Text

  • Any Territory west will be free! Also, Missouri is slave state now, and Maine is free!
  • Missouri Compromise
  • Missouri Compromise
  • Fugitive Slave Act of 1850
  • Where are you boy! I came all the way north to get you! Come here!
  • Yes Sah.
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin of 1852
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin
  • Slavery is wrong. Why have a human being own another human being as if an animal? How can people live with themselves knowing they take apart families, fathers,
  • daughters, and wives, and killing them for or from exhaustion, and it's all because of the color of their skin and the bad cards they were given.
  • Everywhere north of the 36;30 line is free, anything south of it are slave states. Missouri would be a slave state, and this would make Maine a free state. Lastly, Any territory west would be free unless changed.
  • Kansas Nebraska Act
  • For slavery!
  • For Freedom!
  • This law allowed men from the south retrieve there runaway slaves from the north.
  • Dred Scott Decision
  • I grant this case in favor of the plaintiff. You...Mr.Dred Scott shouldn't even be in my presence of me because you don't even classify as a citizen.
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin was a book to inspire abolition and to explain why slavery was wrong. It was made in 1852.
  •
  • My stance is that we need to eliminate any new slave states. This needs to stop.
  • Near chaos happened when Kansas and Nebraska were left to the the states to decide if it should be free or not. Also, this basically washed the Missouri Compromise away.
  • Missouri Compromise
  • This was a big step toward the war because this was an incredibly racist trial, and a black man was basically denied their right to even be called a citizen.
  • The L D debates were super big because they went over important issues such as slavery, black rights, and the Dred Scott case.
  • I think that instead of making complicated areas where slavery is and isn't allowed, lets just let the states decide.
