Storyboard Text

  • What???No money left? I can't believe the banks are failing! I need to pay off debt and feed my family!
  • I've heard there are dust storms back west. Crop killers I hear.
  • Hold up, I'm too poor to buy this! This is really happening to everyone!
  • We need to set something for our world trade. Lets put a tax on imported stuff
  • Rugged Individualism/HooverClick to Edit Title
  • Rugged Individualism is when someone functions without any help by anyone. In this case, the someone is the government.
  • I think this is good so people don't become too reliant on the government.
  • Hoovervilles/Hoover Hotels
  • This awful hoover hotel won't be too bad. If there were a bunch of these, we would be living in a shady place called a Hooverville
  • How long will we live in this thing? I miss my home!
  • I think the stock market crashing is the most important. It caused most of the other events.Click to Edit Description
  • The New Deal
  • The New Deal was a whole bunch of acts put into place to get people out of poverty and to decrease unemployment.
  • He believed that the government should give very little help to the people of America. This was a popular Republican belief.
  • 2nd Bill of Rights
  • We need some new rights.  Everyone should get a good home, a well paying job, payed for if you are sick, old or disabled, farmers get payed well, good medical care, and businessmen able to trade freely.
  • One poorly made hut at that time was called a hoover hotel. If there was a group of them, it was called a Hooverville.
  • New Deal Successful?
  • I got a job!
  • FDR gave many jobs. He may not have ended the depression, but he gave hope, and at least gave people jobs which helped a lot.
  • These acts included: A national bank holiday, ending the gold standard, Glass Steagall Act, FDIC, Federal Securities Act, Agricultural Adjustment Act, Civilian Conservation Corps, Tennessee Valley Authority, National Industrial Recovery Act, Public Works Administration, and Federal Emergency Relief Act.
  • I disagree with this. I think you need to earn all this stuff, because if it's all given to you, why even try?
  • I think it was successful. Many jobs were given, and many acts that were made then, are still used today.
