Odysseus is found by the daughter of Albuminous, king of the Phoenicians.
Everyone who come's into this kingdom from seas is either sent by the gods, or a god themselves. They must be treated with great courtesy before they could be asked who they where. In this case that person is Odysseus.
Odysseus asks the singer to sing him a song about himself. He weeps as the song reminds him of all his companions.
After treating Odysseus with great courtusy, the king asks him to identify himself, Odysseus replies "I am Laertes' son Odysseus"
Odysseus then goes on into telling King of the Phoenicians about his men and his Journey.
