  • Patriotism
  • The war between the Continental army and the British army was fought on American ground which gave the Continental army an advantage.
  • No military experience
  • Its cold and i'm starving
  • The Continental army had very good leaders, such as Washington and Lafayette. Both of these generals were well aware of the British fighting tactics which gave them a advantage.
  • Short in supplies
  • The colonist fought in the war leaving their families behind to defend their families, their freedom and their rights.
  • Lack of money
  • The Continental army had no experience of war tactics or even how to shoot a musket. They were also unorganized which made it difficult for them to be trained in the span of time they had.
  • The Continental army was low on supplies such as food, clothing, and weaponry. This was a disadvantage because in order to get through the cold winter they need these things to survive.
  • The Articles of Confederation lacked the power to raise any money since the government couldn't tax the new states.
