- Okay Class we have a huge test next class so be sure to study.

- The lake is so fun!! But I will have to retake this class,
- Studying at school will let me pass this class but I won't see my friends.
- Tom was sitting in class one day when his teacher announced the biggest test of the year.
- If I don't study and see my friends I will fail the test. But I could still pass without studying.
- Think through Outcomes
- What if I study and still get a bad grade? Then I missed my friends for no reason.
- When Tom was walking with his friends later, they were all asking if he wanted to hangout with them. But Tom's mind was focused on other things.
- Seek Advice
- Thank you for coming to me, I can't make this decision for you but this is the biggest test of the year so it would be better to be prepared.
- Ok thank you! I am going to study tonight and see my friends another time!
- As the day flew by Tom was thinking of whether or not he should study for the test. He determined the consequences to be either study for the test and miss seeing his friends. Or miss studying to see his friends but fail the test.
- Make a choice and take Responsibility
- I'm so happy I studied for that test! I got a good grade and now get to see my friends.
- Tom thought through all the outcomes and decided he needed to seek advice from his teacher.
- I could study and get a good grade. But then I will miss friends.
- Tom talked to his teacher and realized that long term studying for his test is more important.
- Tom took responsibility for his actions and ended up acing the test. With his positive decision making has a good grade and has time to hangout with his friends.
