Storyboard Text

  • A young boy-12-14 year old-would fast from eat and sleep for two days before embarking on his vision quest. Making him more susceptible to hallucination.
  • One more night before I begin.
  • Sometimes, the young boy would enter a sweat lodge before leaving. That was done to make sure the boy was cleansed of all his evils.
  • Better get a move on before the sun completely sets.
  • The young boy would be exiled into the wilderness for three day; alone with his thoughts. The isolation would psychologically break down the participant; making him more prone to hallucinate.
  • On the evening of the third day, the boy would build a stone circle and enter it that night. He would stay there all night praying to receive a dream or vision.
  • Oh spirits, hear my calls.
  • The following morning, the boy would then begin his journey back to his tribe.
  • Time to make my way back.
  • You, young one, will now be known as...
  • On the day of the boy's return, the tribe will hold a celebration; similar to a Confirmation. The religious leader, or tribe elder, would give the young boy a new name-based on his vision or dream.
