Carbon enters the atmosphere as carbon dioxide from respiration & combustion.
Carbon Dioxide is absorbed by producers to make carbohydrates in photosynthesis.
Animals feed on the plant passing the carbon compounds along the food chain.
Animals & plants eventually die if consuming too much food that contains carbon dioxide.
Dead organisms are eaten by decomposers & carbon in their body is returned to the atmosphere.
The plant and animal material can be used as fossil fuels in the future.
