  • Fred Korematsu, an american born citizen, refused to leave his house because he believed it was taking away his rights as a US citizen.

  • Fred Korematsu went to federal court in San Francisco, where they convicted him. He appealed his conviction and went to the Supreme Court where they affirmed the decision and was convicted.
  • President Clinton presented Korematsu with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
