  • "What of those years of rough adventure, weathered under Zeus?" (Homer 9, 28)
  • "Odysseus is welcomed by King Alcinous," and tells him of his travels for the past years.(Homer 9, 1)
  • We landed on an island to rest as the "ships' companies mustered alongside for the mid-day meal", so I sent out 2 warriors and a runner to investigate the island (Homer 9, 37-38).
  • "All hands aboard; come, clear the beach and no one taste the Lotus, or you lose your hope of home"(Homer 9, 50-52).
  • There they met the Lotus Eaters who told them of their strange plant.
  • They offered them the addictive plant and my men ate of it.
  • I found them there, in their surreal drug-induced hallucination of a world. They fought with me and did not wish to ever leave.
  • I brought them back to the ship and tied them to the rowing benches, and then we set sail once more.
