We will work on the rail road
I think we should have a railroad that would stretch all the way to the Pacific Ocean
I support the West
I support the North
We have too much sectionalism to work on the railroad
I support the South
Hello sir, I am looking for a group to help me construct a railroad
Why thank you sir
I would be willing to help you find the group
Hello sir what are you looking for
In 1845, Asa Whitney presented a resolution in congress proposing the federal funding of a rai-lroad that would stretch to the Pacific
I will put this act into law
Over the next several years congress failed to make the railroad because they had to much growing sectionalism in congress
I know it sucks
this work is so hard
In 1860 a engineer named Theodore Judah identified the Donner Pass in Northern California a good location to start the railroad. He was forming a group to make the Central Pacific Railroad Company
Fire in the hole, everyone down!
By 1862 Judah convinced congressional leaders and President Abraham Lincoln to sign the Paci-fic Railroad Act into law
I think you should put this act in law
Two competing companies were going to meet in the middle of the path to build the railroad
The two companies kept at the railroad until th-ey met together and joined the railway on May 10, 1869.
