Storyboard Text

  • The League of Nations was a group established because of the Paris Peace Conference. It was a group of 40 nations who joined together and agreed to negotiate disputes rather than resort to war.
  • This was Wilson's dream. But, he encountered resistance from the US Senate. The US refused to "ratify the treaty" made at the Paris Peace Conference. The US never joined the League of Nations.
  • The US leaving the league weakened the power of the League of Nations. They eventually realized they couldn't prevent war.
