Chapter 5

Storyboard Text

  • In August 1914, when WWI erupted, many Latin American countries and the US remained neutral.
  • This war is worrying me....
  • I don't want us to get in the middle of such a conflict. It would be devastating for us.
  • However...
  • THE GERMANS BOMBED A BRITISH SHIP?!
  • Yes, and there is no telling what they're going to do now...
  • Germans used submarines for heinous causes and disrupted many trade systems in America and Europe alike...
  • ZOOM
  • Oh no! Our goods and gold!
  • Time to destroy... hehehehe
  • Additionally, a growing possibility that the Panama Canal was going to be bombed influenced the US in their decision.
  • PRESIDENT! WE MUST GO TO WAR! THE GERMANS ARE SLOWING DOWN OUR TRADE USING THEIR SUBMARINES!!
  • We MUST declare war...
  • The US's decision to declare war on Germany also influenced many countries to follow suit.
  • I think it's a great idea for us to also declare war, like the US did, and those godforsaken German submarines are getting on my nerves, that has to stop NOW!
  • I also think it's a great idea... Let's do it!
  • Most of the Latin American countries who decided to engage in the conflict declared war on 1917.
  • WARRR!!
  • TO THE AMERICAS!
