The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street Theme:The mind is a dangerous place
Mob: How come his car just up and start like that. All by itself . He's always been and oddball
I just don't understand it. I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. You saw me , all of you saw me
Look,Look, I swear to you it's not me... but i know who the monster is here . I know who doesn't belong. It's.... It's.... It's.... TOMMY
Evidence 1:In this scene Mr. Goodman is trying to explain that he doesn't know anything about his car just starting up like that
In the Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" by Rod Serling, one of the main themes is that the mind is a dangerous place I chose this theme because everyone knows when mankind gets scared they start assuming the worst. When Mr. Goodman's car just started when he walked away from it, they instantly started coming after him. Then when a dark figure started coming towards the group instead of asking who it was Charlie grabbed a a gun and shot at the figure . Which then turned out to be one of their neighbors Mr. Pete Van horn, a man lost his life because of Charlie. The human mind is scary because when we get scared we don't think we just do, and sometimes what we do can affect ad hurt other. If the world ends I would bet you everything that the human race was the cause of it.
Evidence 2: In this scene Charlie is trying to explain and beg everyone not to hurt him because they think he is the monster so he blames Tommy
Evidence 3: In this scene Charlie shoots Pete Van Horn because he thought it was the monster coming for them
