Blockade and increased factories

Storyboard Text

  • "Since you do not want to help us, we are closing off any possible way for you to receive your goods!!!"
  • "Oh why!!! This is going to be a lot of work."
  • America was trading with both Britain and France, but Britain and France were in war. But America wanted to remain neutral.
  • "Why! I'm too young to start working."
  • Because the British blocked off any possible way for America to receive their goods, America was now forced to make their own goods.
  • "I don't like this place, I miss the farmland."
  • The British blockade led to the Industrial Revolution. Now, everything was going to be made in factories.
  • "I can't believe how fast time flies! It's going to be 15 years since I started here!"
  • Women and children started to work there for long, hard hours where there were barely any breaks.
  • Because people wanted their jobs for money, that also meant that they had to move to the big cities.
  • The Industrial Revolution lasted from around 1760 to 1820 and 1840.
