Forreal! It is way too hot to be running right now!
Girl, it is so hot out here. I am sweating like crazy!
I honestly think I'm going to have a heat stroke! Nothing can cool me down right now!
Ugh here we go again! *rolls eyes*
My hypo-what? Homeo-who?
You must not know about homeostasis. Your hypothalamus will recognize that there is a fluctuation in your body temperature and it will act accordingly causing you to sweat and eventually cooling you down!
I'm still not following can you explain in more detail?
You know, your hypothalamus the thing right under your thalamus that controls your body temp., thirst, hunger ect... and homeostasis your state of equilibrium.
Oh! That makes so much sense now! Homeostasis is my bodies state of balance and sweating is just one of the many ways my body maintains that balance!
Basically this is how it works. You start with homeostasis (your normal body temp.), then the stimulus kicks in (the rise in your body temp.), the receptors notice the change (temp. sensors in skin and cells of thermoregulatory center), which make the effectors (sweat) take action, and the response is (heat loss through evaporation).
Well I hope homeostasis starts working soon because I'm melting!
