There is an old man with a blind eye. The narrator has a problem with the mans eye. The narrator is planning to take care of that real soon.
Everytime the narrator sees the old man he is bothered by the eye. He's not too sure why it botheres him so much but he can't stand to look at it anymore.
For eight nights the narrator watches the old man sleep. He determines how he's going to get rid of the eye.
The narrator kills the old man then cuts him up and plans to bury him under the floor. The narrator is very happy about how his plan worked out.
After murdering the old man he hears knocking on the door. The police show up and begin to question him about strange noises. The narrator lets them in and shows them around the house completely confident they won't figure out what he has done.
After talking for a while the narrator begins to hear the heartbeat of the old man. The narrator gets paranoid and thinks the police are mocking him. He can't take it anymore and admits to killing the old man.
