  • Welcome to Mali
  • Hi and welcome to Mali. I am your tour guide Adama and today I will be showing you around Mali. You will learn about Mali's geography, society, economy, and religion. So Lets Get Started!!!
  • Mali Geography
  • To start off with Mali is a landlocked nation in West Africa, located southwest of Algeria, extending south-west from the southern Sahara Desert through the Sahel to the Sudanian savanna zone.
  • Mali Society
  • The population of Mali is composed of many ethnic groups, such as the Bambara, Tuareg, Dogon, Songhai, Senufo, and Fulani. Each group has its own customs and ways. But Malians are relaxed about their different cultures.
  • Mali Society
  • Next, 90% of Mali's population is Muslim and is comprised of numerous ethnic groups, speaking over 40 languages between them. 80% of the population can speak Bambara, which is used for trade and commerce. Mali has a reputation for its music.
  • Mali Economy
  • Among the 25 poorest countries in the world, landlocked Mali depends on gold mining and agricultural exports for revenue. The country's fiscal status fluctuates with gold and agricultural commodity prices and the harvest; cotton and gold exports make up around 80% of export earnings. Mali remains dependent on foreign aid.
  • Mail Religion
  • Last but not least religion. There's a well-known saying in Mali that the country is "98% Muslim, 2% Christian and 100% animist", withIslam absorbing traditional practices and allowing people to retain connections with their customary spirituality. This provides a formula for religious tolerance.
