  • Have you ever heard of osmosis and diffusion?
  • Explaining Osmosis and Diffusionby McKenzie Graham
  • No, what is it?
  • Well, osmosis is the diffusion of water across a semipermeable membrane.
  • Oh, but what does semipermeable mean?
  • Semipermeable means only some molecules can pass through the membrane
  • Well, then tell me what diffusion means.
  • Diffusion is the constant random movement of molecules from a high area of concentration to a low area of concentration.
  • Why do molecules need to move to areas of low or high areas of concentration.
  • Well, because it needs to be even, which is called equilibrium.
  • So osmosis and diffusion are molecules moving around and arranging them selves.
  • I'm so proud.
  • I finally get it now!
