  • Hoot, by Carl Hiaasen, is about a group of kids who try to save the endangered owls. Roy, Beatrice, and Mullet Fingers. try everything they can do, even if it means that Mullet Fingers(napoleon) getting caught .
  • Climax
  • The setting of the novel is at the mother Paula's pancake shop. Roy Eberhardt is a brave, caring, thoughtful person. Beatrice Leep is a strong, pretty, smart girl who has a funny personality. Mullet fingers AKA Napoleon Leep is a runaway kid who is Beatrice's brother, and he can't get caught because he will get sent to jail.
  • Falling Action
  • In the story, Roy gets bullied by a boy named Dana and Beatrice comes to save Roy by picking up dana and stripped him of all his clothes besides his undergarments and ties him to a flag pole. The problem is that something bad has happened to Mullet Fingers, he has gotten bitten by a dog. So Beatrice and Roy steal a bike to go faster.
  • Resolution
  • Roy and Beatrice go as fast as they can to Roy's house and get bandages, and 2 pounds of meat. When they get to Mullet Fingers, Beatrice raps up his wounds and they feed the owls the 2 pounds of hamburger meat, it turns out that Mullet fingers needs to go the hospital.
  • When Beatrice, Roy, and Mullet Fingers get to the emergency room. There are no records for Mullet Fingers because he ran away from home so Roy tells the hospital that his name is roy and he has gotten attacked by a dog on the soccer field.
  • The hospital calls Roys parents and they come to the hospital. But before his parents come into the room Mullet Fingers escapes and runs away to plan his new attack on the mother Paulas pancake house.
