There was a king named Midas who loved gold and his daughter very much. His daughters name was marygold.
While in his gold room he was approached by a stranger. This stranger offered to grant him one wish that would make him happy. He wished that he could turn any object gold with the touch of his fingers. He believed it would make him happy.
After obtaining his new ability the next day he began to turn everything gold. He went outside and turned all the flowers in his garden that his daughter loved to pick to gold.
After Marygold saw the flowers that he turned gold she became upset because the flowers were now ugly. Midas felt bad and he got upset as well. When marycold tried to comfort her father she touched him and she turned to gold.
The stranger returned and gave Midas the opportunity to undo his golden touch. Midas begged to do whatever to get his daughter back so the stranger granted his wish.
Was it worth it?
Midas turned everything back to normal but some things like his daughters hair would always have a tint of gold in it
