The Mi'kmaq people lived on the east coast of Canada in the 1600's. They moved their camps based on the seasons, so they never had a permanent spot.
Samuel de Champlain searched for new land in 1608, and found the old Stradacona settlements. He also met the Mi'kmaq, Beothuk, and Hochelaga.
The 7 years war took place from 1756-1763 between the French and English. It was fought all around the world. The English won the war.
The English took over New France after they won the war. They turned it into a British colony, and brought more settlers from England.
Elsie MacGill was the first woman to help build Canadian war planes. She helped build the Hurricanes for World War II, in 1938 giving her the name, Queen of the Hurricanes.
In 1946,Viola Desmond got taken out of the main level of the movie theater in New Glasglow, Nova Scotia because she was black. She didn't think this was fair, so she disobeyed the orders, and got arrested.
