  • The Embargo Act of 1807
  • The Embargo Act of 1807 was a series of laws passed by congress during Jefferson's that limited overseas, trade, especially with France and England. 
  • Causes with the War of 1812
  • The U.S wanted to expand  territory, by capturing  Florida and Canada.  Impressment   of U.S soliders.   The U.S believe that British and Native Americans were partnering up. 
  • The War At Sea
  • The British and U.S Navy were at war. The Ship for the U.S was the USS Constitution. The U.S wins due to how tough the USS Constitution is. The cannonballs bounce off the sides of the ship. Getting the name "Old Iron-sides". 
  • The battle of Lake Eire
  • September 10,1813. U.S fleet leaders Oliver Perry, and British Commander Robert Barclay. British pound the Americans hard, killing 80% of soldiers. Barclay was wounded in the battle therefore Perry led the Americans to victory. 
  • The Burning of Washington D.C
  • General Robert Ross  Lead British troops to destroy  important buildings in Washington, D.C.  Such as Executive Mansion . Dolley Madison was a herioc and brave woman during this time for she  stayed behind and saved very valuable things from the fire. 
  • Battle of Baltimore 
  • In the Battle of Baltimore the British marched towards Baltimore to fight Americans at the Battle of North Point. At Fort McHenry, Major George Armstead led Americans against the British  Royal Navy. The U.S stands its grounds and forces British troops to withdraw. The American Flag flew over the Next day showing the victory of the U.S and this where the inspiration for the Star spangled banner came from.
