Storyboard Text

  • The Fight of Frederick Douglass's Life
  • By: Chloe Kochuba and Emery Carrell
  • Frederick Douglass is a slave who was sent to live with a slave breaker named Covey. Frederick knows how to read and write so he was worked harder and beaten often.
  • One hot day Frederick was very tired from his hard work, so he sat down to take a break. Covey was very aggravated by this so he hit Frederick in the head with a stick.
  • This frustrated Frederick so that night he ran away. Frederick was a beast running through the forest until he found a place to stay.
  • Then suddenly he heard footsteps... Frederick looked over to find another slave named Sandy. Sandy saw Frederick's wounds and took care of him. "Thank you for helping me with my wounds, Sandy" said Frederick. Sandy gave Frederick a magic root to protect him from beatings.
  • Frederick returned to Covey's cruel corner of the world with his magic root.
