- He was walking on the sandy shore of a deep inlet and saw a number of mermen and mermaids dancing by moonlight and several seal skins thrown beside them on the ground.the man noticed that one skin lay close to his feet, so he snatched it up, carried it away quickly, and hid it.
- Then, when she gave a signal, a large seal would make his appearance, and she would speak with him anxiously in an unknown language.
- Years passed this way. Then, one day, as one of the children was playing, he found a seal’s skin hidden beneath a stack of corn. Delighted with the prize, he ran with it to his mother.
