Madam C. J. Walker or Sarah Breedlove was an entrepreneur, philanthropist(donator), and a political and social activist. She was the wealthiest African-American businesswoman and wealthiest self-made woman in America. After Ms. Walker lost her hair she created specialized hair products for African-American hair and was one of the first American women to become a self-made millionaire. She was also known for her generous efforts, including a donation to the building of an Indianapolis YMCA in 1913. Died in 1919 from high blood pressure at age 51 Citations: “Madam C.J.
