Rules for the Texans
Stephen Austin, Son of Moses Austin, gets approved to bring 300 familes to Settle in Texas. With more settlers, the lands get developed and more people in Texas means a buffer against illegal U.S settlers.
Everybody hears that Texas is the new place to settle. Now Texans are outnumbering Tejanos 6-1. The Mexicans need to do something about this.
Texans are Defeated at the Battle at the Alamo
The Tejanos decided they could create some rules for the Texans. If they're going to stay, there have to be some ground rules to follow. That is to learn Spanish, become Catholic, follow Mexican Law, and no slaves.

The Texans don't like the new rules that they have to follow. In fact, they want to annex Texas altogether. Rebellions start to rise and war is certain from this point forward.
The Texans hide out in an abandoned mission called "The Alamo" during the fight. About 150 Texans hold off 6,500 Tejanos for 12 days. Eventually, they died and the Texans lost.
