Storyboard Text

  • At first the highwayman goes to see Bess and they discus their run away plan. 
  • Alliteration "riding-riding-riding"
  • After the highwayman and Bess discuss their runaway, the said their goodbyes. The only problem was, Tim overhears part of their plan.
  • Dialogue "one kiss, my bonny sweet heart….. but I shall be back"
  • intersting 
  • When Tim snitches the redcoats come to kill the highwayman and use Bess as bait.
  • Conflict "When the road was a gypsy's ribbon, looping the purple moore, a redcoat troop came marching "
  • This alliteration refers to the highway man riding away.
  • Once they tie Bess up she tries to get to the gun so she can shoot herself warning the highwayman 
  • Rhyme "The horse hoofs ringing clear;" "Were they deaf that they did not hear?"
  • The dialogue going on between the highwayman and Bess is referring to how the highwayman will be back after he has gotten the money he needs. 
  • Near the end Bess gets to the gun and waits for the highwayman to get back at the time they discussed (moonlight) when the time is right she shots herself .
  • onomatopoeia "Tliot-tlot;tlot-tlot
  • The conflict was cause by Tim because he snitches to the red coats about the  highwayman's and bess's plan. The effect of this was that the red coats came to catch the highwayman and use Bess as their bait. 
  • At the end when the Highwayman comes back to get revenge on the red coats, he gets shot.
  • Setting "Golden noon"
  • This rhyme refers to when the highwayman comes back and Bess is wondering if the red coats herd the Highwayman's horses hoofs.
  • This onomatopoeia refers to the sound the the horse was making when the Highwayman was coming back. 
  • This setting is referring to the time setting noon and/or afternoon.
