  • When a town of someone wants to make a law they write  a bill
  • How does a bill become a law
  • That bill then goes to the committee that has to give the bill a chance 
  • The subcommittee then hands it off to the full committee who do you further study and readings
  • After public offcials and other experts take futher investigation in the bill, the subcommittee may accepted the bill as written. The committee will usually make changes to the bill 
  • The committee then writes a written report on the bill that includes the purpose of legislation.This makes the bill ready for debate in the senate
  • when the bill finally makes it to the House or senate the members of the chamber debate the pros and cons of the bill
  • Changes normally occurs on the (this) stage 
  • After the debate and approval the bill is ready to vote 
  • If the bill is passed by the house it goes to the senate. If they both pass it then goes to the executive branch of government. If the president approves it then it becomes a law 
  • this is where i make laws
  • Lastly the president may veto or decline the law if he wants.If he or she does this congress may override the veto with a 215 votefrom the house and senate
