The Tibet-Qinghai Plateau is a rocky land surrounded by huge mountains. The Huange He river and the Chang Jiang river both begin in this area.
The Taklamakan Desert is one of the most dangerous deserts in the world. The name means "one you go in ,you will not come out."
The Gobi Desert stretches over 500,000 sq miles. It has very few sand dunes. Most of the desert is stone, the surface is made up of small pebbels and bits of sand. Their are very few plants.
The Northeastern Plain is located in present day Mongolia. In the northern and eastern parts it is dry and cold, the southern half in the valley it is milder weather because of the water. their is most vegetation in the prairie grass.
It is called the "land of the yellow earth" because the ground is made up of yellow limestone silt, which comes from the Gobi desert. The river that runs through the plain is full of yellow silt, thats how it gets its named the Yellow river. The river carries silt to help fertilize the grounds which makes the plain good for planting crops.
The Change Jiang Basins are areas of wet and low costal plains. The basins are located along the river called the Chang Jiang which means long river. The climate is warm and wet. in ancient times the vegetation might of been a rainforest. Their is little space for farming and it was not suitable for grazing animals.
