This scene depicts a shooting around Salva school that forces the boys in the school including Salva's teacher to flee for safty in the bush. This conflict is external because the shooing is outside the school and the rebels are taking over Loun-Ariik.
This scene depicts Salva losing hope in his long journey through the desert to get to Ethiopia because he is really weak and extremely sad from being away from his family. This conflict is internal because it is up to Salva to hold on to hope or let despair and sorrow take over him.
This scene depicts Salva feeling in a state of loss after staying in the refugee camp for 6 years because he does not know where else to go in life this conflict is external because it was the governments choice to close down the refugee camp because the foreign aid groups can't provide for them anymore.
