RIfka told her mom that she was going for a walk because she was bored and she needed a stretch because she was in a crouched (pg.2) position.
I'm going for a walk.
Rifka was walking around the train until she found a peasant girl at the baack of the train. She thought the girl was older that her until she got closer.
What monstrous hair she has!
Rifka wanted to braid the girls hair because she was going to meet her aunt for the first time. So RIfka was trying to unravel her hair so that it looked nicer. But she did not know that the girls hair was contagious (pg. 44).
Is it ok if I braid your hair?
After Rifka was done fixing the girls hair, she smelled the wafting (pg.45) scent of cheese. Her mouth watered at the smell of it.
Rifka went back to her seat on the train and felt the Pushkin was still in her rucksack (pg.39). She then asked her mother if she could get off of the train at the next stop.
No. You should not have drank that much tea before we got on the train.
Can I get off of the train at the next stop. I really have to go.
So the rest of the train ride she was in a position so she would not bother her mother that much and so that she could help her mother unravel her yarn so that she could start knitting.
