You would think that years after WWII that the thought of Nazism would have died, but sadly, that is not the case. Antisemitic symbols and slogans are still being used openly in public today.
Antisemitism is the discrimination against or prejudice or hostility toward Jews.
Burning books written by Jewish authors was an act of antisemitism. So was the paining of symbols and slang on buildings owned by Jewish people
Nazism is still being used openly today
Nazism still exists today and is a threat to those who are a part of the Jewish culture.
antisemitism is discrimination toward Jews
Neo-Nazism is just an using the first amendment right (freedom of speech, assembly, ect)
Antisemitism was (obviously) common during the WWII time period and "The Book Thief" talks about some of those acts
Neo-Nazism is a very real threat to society today. We need to do something about it now before the actions get more common. Children are going to be raised around these ideas and spread them. We need to be careful and stop this while we have a chance.
"Neo-Nazis, white supremacists, 'incels,' nativists and radical anti-globalists who resort to violent acts are a threat to the stability of my country and countries around the world,"
Neo-Nazis are a threat in today's society
Neo-nazism isn't just using free speech
Words mean more than we will ever understand. For every idea spread there will be at least a few that act upon it, and there already has been many who have put their ideas into action
