The theme of the monsters are due on maple street is dont jump to conclusions.
One major thome in The Monsters are due on Maple Street by Rod Sterling is don't Jump to conclusions. 1 peice of evidence I found to support this is that after Les Goodmans car started up most people jumped to a conclusion that he was an alien. This wasted time and raised overall tension, fear and suspision which would later in the story lead to bad things. Another peice or evidence I found to support my theme comes from around the time pete van horn was killed. Around this time in the story everyone saw a dark figure and a lot of conclusion jumping and bad things were about to follow. First tension and fear had been raised already by other things that happened because people were jumping to conclusions for example les goodmans car starting like I mentioned earlier. So probably out of fear and definately jumping to a conclusion Tommy said It's the monster and everyone belived him and huddled in a group.Don then got a shotgun and because they all saw no reason to believe it wasnt a monster charlie took the gun and shot the dark figure; this dark figure, turned out to be pete van horn, one of their neighbors. So just like that everyone now jumped to the conclusion that charlie was an evil alien that had to kill pete van horn because he had valueable information. Then they attacked charlie because they all jumped to a conclusion and charlie jumped to a conclusion. They all jumped to conclusions and that ended up killing someone and increasing fear and suspision even more. Finally my last peice of evidence is at the end of the story when random lights are turning on and off they all accuse one another of being an alien or monster just based on whoevers light was on at the present moment not even stopping to consider the possibility that its no one and not wanting to be calm. Suddenly violence erupts and people are shot at attacked and accused randomly in the chaos. Overall I think the theme of The Monsters are due on Maple Street by Rod Sterling is dont jump to conclusions.
Everyone thinks les goodman is an alien after his car starts. That leads to a massive waste of time arguing with him about it and in the end, nothing good comes from it.
hey your car started
AHHHH
Charlie jumped to the conclusion that a dark figure was a monster that was dangerous enough that it had to be killled. He thought quickly, jumped to a conclusion and shot, killing the dark figure who was really his neighbor.
YOU
At the end of the story everyone quickly jumped to the conclusion that whoevers light turned on was a monster, even though everyones lights were turning on and off. Whoevers light was turned on at present moment was just accused, and that led to chaos.
