On December 16, 1773, a political protest was secretly made. During the meeting, the leader of the Sons of liberty was an important person to the colony. He had made a plan that once he said the "code" that the group would set out towards the ships.
The people of the dressed up like Indians and boarded the . there plan was to pour all the tea into the sea. They also had to cause no actual damage to the ship or people. They had poured over 92,000 pounds of tea into the sea.
After they had done the dead of pouring the tea, all the members of the Sons of Liberty gathered back to the old oak tree where it all began. They lit the tree up with lanterns and light to show that the tea had been thrown. The tree is a very important symbol to them.
