Montag says " its a pleasure to burn". In the beginning of the story Montag enjoys his job as a fireman he set books and houses with books on fire. Montag and like the rest of the people in his society are blind of whats going on around them.
Montag Becomes A Student
While walking home Montag meets a girl named Clarisse who talks to him about things he never thought about and made him have to actually think of his answers. She asks him "are you happy" and without thinking he responds with of course.
Montag is feeling guilty about the books he burned over the years and doesn't want to keep burning them. so he calls sick so he can avoid work. Montag quotes "The sieve and sand" the sand meaning the learning he seeks ahead of him and the sieve is his mind trying to stay a hold of this knowledge
Montag Finds Fulfillment
Montag soon meets a man named faber who he gets help from about books Faber tells montag that books are important because they tell about humanities accomplishments. montag tells Faber "he will do it himself" showing he wants to learn
Montag is forced to kill Betty because he found the ear piece that communicating with faber so to protect him and faber he killed him. Montag say "not really trying to save himself" after killing Betty because he thinks betty wanted to die
after kill Betty , Montag is attacked by the hound and takes the river to escape it. soon meeting people who were hiding from the government and they give him a drink that hides him from the hound "This was all he wanted now. Some sign that the immense world would accept him and give him the long time he needed to think all the things that must be thought." Montag can finally embrace the beauty of nature.
