Comrade Stalin idealized to replace religion with the arts and continued to advocate for creativity in the great light of the USSR!
"Artists [are] engineers of the soul, [art should be] national in form, socialist in content!"
Artist committees, like the Congress of Soviet Writers, insured that all works were up to the standards of our country.
Comply or else you shall go to the work camps!
BRAVO!!! All our citizens must see this masterpiece!
Comrade Stalin adored the films and the theater most of all and would frequent performances to give his seal of approval, greatly improving a creator's career!
One such director that worked with comrade Stalin was Vsevolod Meyerhold. In 1898, he was an apprentice to Konstantin Stanislavsky, a renowned director famed for his realistic acting style!
..Nemirovich-Danchenko was once heard calling Meyerhold's work:
"The muddle, created by a man who discovers several new truths, pushing another one every day," or simply, "nonsense."
In 1902, Meyerhold set out on his own to hone his own craft. He did not agree with Stanislavsky's form of acting and began to develop his own. Often described as "puppet-like," Meyerhold began to build an interesting reputation....
After many offers from old mentors and friends to join their guilds, in 1920, Meyerhold opened his own theater where all actors were required to study "Biomechanics."
It is very important you focus on the MOVEMENT! This perfects your acting and shows perfection of the human form!
