Storyboard Text

  • Mr. Grim, I am still confused. How do eukaryotic cells get their energy?
  • Whats that?
  • Eukaryotic cells use a process known as cellular respiration to get energy. Think of it like a rechargeable battery.
  • Oh
  • Air?
  • First i'll talk about the reactants. Glucose comes from photosynthesis which we discussed earlier. Oxygen just comes from the air.
  • The stuff around you, living things use to breathe.
  • Eukaryotic cells take the glucose and oxygen; then convert it into carbon dioxide, water, and ATP energy. Only eukaryotic cells are capable of doing this.
  • Remember only Eukaryotic cells are capable of doing this.
  • Cellular respiration takes place in the mitochondria. The mitochondria is an organelle that is like a power plant for the cell.
  • Can I come with you?
  • No
  • Now i'm gonna go find something interesting...
