"Charlie slowly raises the gun. As the figure gets closer and closer, he suddenly pulls the trigger." They gather around him. "Steve (slowly looks up). It's Pete Van Horn."
Don't Judge a book by its cover or don't judge someone by their first action.
"Charlie but...but I didn't know who he was. He comes walk in out of the the darkness-how am I suppose to know who he was. How am I suppose to know he wasn't a monster or something? I was just trying to...trying to protect my home that's all."
"[A man breaks away from the crowd to chase Charlie. The other people start to run toward them. Charlie is up on his feet, breaks away from the other man's grasp, lands a couple of desperate punches that pushes the man aside. Then he forces his way, fighting, through the crowd to once again break free, jumps up on his front porch. A rock thrown from the group smashes a window alongside of him, the broken glass flying past him.couple of pieces cut him. He stands there perspiring, rumpled, blood running down from a cut on the cheek. We can see the crowd converging on the porch now."]
The theme that I chose for my story board was that don't judge a book by its cover or that you shouldn't judge by first action or appearance. The reason I chose this theme is because the people think that Charlie is an alien just because he shot Pete Van Horn. He didn't know that if he was a monster or not. He was just trying to protect his home and others. As the first piece of evidence says. I put the scene where Charlie shoots Pete Van Horn. My evidence was trying to say that charlie didn't try to kill Pete Van Horn he tried to save himself and others from a monster that he thought was Pete Van Horn. Also that it shows Charlie is protective. The second scene is where the people go to see that he shot Pete Van Horn and How he tries to explain himself that he was trying to protect everyone and didn't want to risk not knowing it is a monster and end up dying because he was second guessing himself. It proves that he is not just a monster just because he thought he was a monster and killed him and ended up being one of their neighbors. Also if Charlie was a monster and he would think a monster was coming his way he wouldn't want to kill his own kind it was just a misunderstanding. The last scene shows that the people shouldn't have tried to hurt Charlie of something that he isn't. As it says that they threw a rock at him and started chasing when he started bleeding from his eye because the rock broke one of his windows and the glass ends up cutting the side of his face as he was dripping in blood. There was no reason for the people to try t hurt Charlie just because they thought he was an alien because he shot Pete Van Horn of a misunderstanding. These are some reasons why you shouldn't judge people by their first action and that it could always be a misunderstanding.
