  • Madeline and Sogo

  • "I says 'Don't ask me no questions about it, please. You'll take it- won't you?'" (Twain 29).
  • Key Event: Huck saw his father's unique footprints, knew he was coming for Huck's money, and brought all his savings to the judge so he couldn't give his father any
  • Chapter 4
  • Key event: The judge realizes Pap won't change after Pap gets drunk again even once he promises to be better when the judge takes him in
  • "He said he reckoned a body could reform the old man with a shotgun, maybe, but he didn't know no other way," (Twain 39).

  • Key Event: Pap locks Huck in a cabin in Illinois and Huck's super scared
  • "Once he locked me in and was gone 3 days. It was dreadful lonseome. I judged he had got drowned and I wasn't ever going to get out anymore. I was scared,"(Twain 42),

  • "I rose up and there was Jackson Island, about 2 mile and a half down stream, heavy timbered and standing up out of the middle of the river, big and dark and solid, like a steamboat without any lights," (Twain 62).
  • Key event: Huck managed to escape and canoe to Jackson island the next morning
  • Chapter 8
  • "...and it was Miss Watson's Jim! I bet I was glad to see him," (Twain 71).
  • Key event: Huck and Jim find each other, and, as both of them are runaways, they decide to stick together
  • "We tramped and clumb around all over it, and by and by found a good and big cavern..." (Twain 82)
  • Key event: Huck and Jim find a hiding spot together and, from then on are a team.
