"I rose up and there was Jackson Island, about 2 mile and a half down stream, heavy timbered and standing up out of the middle of the river, big and dark and solid, like a steamboat without any lights," (Twain 62).
Key event: Huck managed to escape and canoe to Jackson island the next morning

"...and it was Miss Watson's Jim! I bet I was glad to see him," (Twain 71).
Key event: Huck and Jim find each other, and, as both of them are runaways, they decide to stick together
