Searching for Huck
They Find a Cave and a Chest
After being on the island for a bit, Huck runs into Jim. Jim thought he was a ghost since he faked his death, so Huck convinced him that he was still alive. Jim then explained he was on the island because Miss. Watson was trying to sell him so he ran away/
Huck Goes Back to Town
A while later, a steamboat floats by and on that steamboat were people from the town looking for Huck's body. Huck was happy they believed he died, however; they were discussing that they believe the murderer of Huck Finn could be his own Pap or Jim.
During the first day it started to downpour, Jim and Huck searched for shelter from the rain in which they found a cave to stay in. In that cave they found a chest full of clothes.
Down the River
After finding the chest full of clothes, Huck gets the idea of dressing as a girl to hide his identity and go to town to witness his own funeral.
While being in town Huck decides to ask what has been going on. A lady invites him in her home. While being there she tells Huck that Pap has left town so he is a suspect of the murder, however, so is Jim since he is a runaway. Some of the townspeople are going to Jackson Island to hunt down Jim. The lady then realizes Huck is a boy so he heads back to the island to warn Jim.
As soon as Huck reaches the island and warns Jim about the townspeople looking for him, they board a raft then start floating down the river. They left the island in time for nobody to see them leave.
