  • Battle of Frenchtown
  • The War of 1812, which lasted from June 18, 1812 to February 18, 1815, was a war between America and Britain along with help from the I Indians. This war was started because the British refused to give up impressing the U.S. merchant ships. The war ended in a tie when both sides decided to sign the treaty of Ghent which stated that no land was gained of lost.
  • Tucumpsha Dies
  • The battle of Detroit also known as the surrender or siege of detroit was one of the earlier fights during the war of 1812. It was a fight that was stopped before it had even began. General William gave orders to surrender because of the British threat. Since he surrender there weren't any casualties no shots or cannons fired
  • Washington Burns
  • The battle of French Town was one of the fight that occurred during the war of 1812. It was caused because of some boundary disagreement that occurred between the Indians and Americans because of the Michigan territory. This fight took place on January 18-23 in the year 1813. The result was an American defeat
  • Battle of New Orleans
  • Date:  October 1, 1813
  • Tecumseh's death occurred during the battle of the Thames. The battle of Thames was an important victory for the U.S. because it showed their power and that they could win the war. Unfortunately Tecumseh died during the battle which dealt a heavy blow to the confidence of the British and Indian allied forces.
  • Date:  August 25, 1814
  • The burning of the U.S. capitol washington D.C. occurred as a rebuttal for the U.S.'s destruction of the British capital. It was an invasion by the British of Washington D.C. during the battle of Bladensburg. During the invasion the White house was successfully burned and destroyed, then later rebuilt in the year 1817.
  • The battle of New Orleans was an interesting fight because for starters it was not supposed to happen. The battle occured after the peace treaty had been signed and the war had ended. The battle took place on January 8, 1815. General Andrew Jackson fended off and defeated the invading British soldier eventually making him famous.
