  • Anouk Schochle 3rd hourPower, Protest and Change
  • Hey, I am Anouk Schochle and today we learn something about Power, Protest and Change in the history
  • Zickzack Road
  • It was a really long way for rights for POCs. And there were a lot of ups and downs, back and forth: like a zickzack road.
  • A lot of people suffered for their rights
  • What to the slave
  • The 4th of July wasn't always a day to celebrate for everyone. During some people celebrate their country, others were slaves in the same country. Douglas talked in a speech
  • Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address
  • Protest needed pain and a lot of people suffered for their rights.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education
  • Separate but equal
  • Protests with a speech, the people got the opportunity to talk about their problems.
  • The Social Dilemma
  • In his speech Lincoln talked about how the people need to stand together, doesn't matter what skin colour they have.
  • Also people which weren't directly affected by the problem (here slavery) helped the affected people.
  • He wanted to rebuilt America and make it better for all. He wanted to end the slavery. He brought a lot of change to the people
  • People used the complaints to fight for their rights. They had the opportunity to use a legal way.
  • That doesn't work. After this case schools weren't separate anymore and finally all kids can learn together.
  • With technology and social media a lot of things changed, the way to protest changed. Now people can protest and talk about their opinions in the internet.
  • Phones separates the people more and more. Our live is online now. We protest with social media and use different ways to present our opinion.
