- Sara wants to sneak out and go to her friend's house. She needs to find the angle of depression from her window that is 11 ft high and escape with a rope that is 15 ft long.
- She gets out her notepad and uses trig to find the angle. She uses the inverse of cosine and figures out the angle 42.8 degrees. Now she can get down safely
- Now to get into her friends house she needs to know how far away she is to use a ladder. She knows that the angle of elevation is 50 degrees and the window is 11 ft high
- Sara is now in her friends room!She took out her handy dandy notepad to figure out how to get up. Tangent is the function she used and found out how far away she needed to be to use the ladder, which was 9.2 ft.
- Her friend's mom found out that Sara snuck in! sara's only option is to climb on top of the roof and jump into the pool for a safe escape. She needs to jump a total of 20 ft and the pool is 10 ft away from the house. She needs to know what angle to jump from.
- She quickly gets her notepad out and uses the inverse sin trig function. She figures out the angle to be 30 degrees and jumps just in time. She lands in the middle of the pool and runs back home.
