Thomas Jefferson was a very intelligent man, also quiet but he wanted to make a change in protection and wanted expansion for the U.S.Thomas Jefferson was a primary draftsman who wrote the Declaration of Independence. He was also the third U.S. president. Jefferson helped stabilize the U.S economy and defeated pirates from North Africa. He was also responsible for doubling the size of the United States by successfully brokering the Louisiana purchase. He was also the founder of the University of Virginia.
As we know, Thomas Jefferson was the primary author of the Declaration of Independence. He wrote the most important document there is in the U.S constitution. This document stated an act that took 13 American colonies in declaring Independence from British rule. He also wrote this document in Philadelphia on July 4th. The four key ideas were equality, unalienable rights, consent of governed, and right to alter or abolish government.

Another accomplishment of Thomas Jefferson's was the founding of the University of Virginia. This university is a private university, Central College which was built in 1816. One thing that happened was that the Virginia Legislature refused to fund a general plan for primary and secondary education. He designed this school to advance human knowledge, and educate leaders.
