  • George
  • We are 10 miles away!!!
  • wanted
  • I would be better off by myself. I could get a job.
  • but
  • Don't say anything so we can get this job.
  • George was a very rude person. George was on the run from the cops. George was also rude to Lennie because he did not know how to act with Lennie because Lennie had a mental problem.
  • so
  • then
  • George wanted to be by himself. Also he was being very mean to Lennie and saying that this is all his fault that they are in this mess. Then, Lennie started to feel like he was not wanted. But George was promising stuff like a farm and them being able to work
  • George figured out that he was not going to get what he wanted. So he explained to George that they are going to work on a farm and just let him do all the talking in a nice tone to Lennie
  • themes
  • George accepted that he could not get what he wanted, so then he took up the responsibility of caring for Lennie. The first thing he did of caring was that he was trying to get them a job on a ranch.
  • George then took the responsibility for Lennie and tried really hard to get them both a job. After, all they got the job and George had to be responsible for Lennie
  • At first, George wanted to be alone because he was forced to take care of Lennie but he made a promise that they would stick together. So I think that George wanted to be alone but he could not be alone so he took up the responsibility of taking care of Lennie.
