  • New Technology... Trench Warfare
  • Germany sunk the Lusitania using a submarine. The Zimmerman telegram was sent by Germany to Mexico, but was depicted by GB. The telegram spoke of starting a war with America; this is why the United States got involved in WW1.
  • The Armistice
  • The Central Powers consisted of Germany, Bulgaria, Austria- Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. The Allied Powers were France, Russia, Great Britain, the United States and Serbia. Allies were dragged to fight in the war for their ally.
  • The Treaty of Versailles
  • Trench warfare, chemical weapons, and machine guns revolutionized the art of war. The trenches were muddy and disgusting. Chemical weapons and machine guns were used to injure and kill many soldiers in war.
  • The Armistice stopped the fighting between GB, France, and Germany. It began on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. The Treaty of Versailles was signed six months later.
  • The Treaty of Versailles negotiated peace between many countries. The three men who came to be called the “Big Three" were the most important figures in the creation of the treaty. 13.5% of Germany's land was distributed between several different countries.
