Revolutionary War Lemuel Haynes
This storyboard does not have a description.
Hello, my name is Lemuel Haynes, I am a indentured servant meaning that over a couple of years I can be free and make choices for myself. When I'm free, I'm going to join the army because as a slave, I understand the meaning of freedom, and I was going to join freedoms cause.
When I was free, I became quite interested in the Declaration of Independence, so I decided to write a continued version of it. I called it "Liberty Further Extended."
When I became free, I joined the American army to fight our "foe", the British.
Over the next fifty years, I preached at churches. Five of the churches Anglo members attended.(Anglo members are British isles descent in the Americas) Anglos were white while I was black.
I still wrote books during the years of preaching.
Lemuel Haynes died on September 28, 1833.
