  • Spark That Caused WW1 in Europe
  • Sinking of the Lusitania and the Zimmerman Telegram
  • Central and Allied Powers
  • Arch-Duke Ferdinand was the heir to Austria-Hungary. One day he was assassinated by a group called the Black Hand. This sparked World War One to happen.
  • Technology/Trench Warfare
  • The Lusitania was a large passenger ship. Germany sank it and they killed 1000 people. Out of that 1000, 123 of them were americans.
  • Armistice
  • Many alliances were formed during World War One. Alliances are when different nations fight together in a war. They were formed because the more people you have on your side, the more likely you will win.

  • Trench warfare is when soldiers fought the opposition while they were in trenches. New technology was made so that each side in the war could have the upper-hand. Some examples were airplanes, tanks, machine guns, and heavy artillery.
  • On November 11, 1918 Germany surrendered. This was the Armistice(stop in fighting). Germany had to hand over their U-boats.
  • The Treaty of Paris was signed for both sides of the war to be peaceful. They took away many territories and colonies in Germany. Germany was blamed for the war and had to pay heavy fines.
