- In conclusion, this story is about how the seasons came to be as the result of a family drama. In the end, Persephone comits herself to the underworld when she eats six seeds. This meant that Persephone had to rule with Hades for six months during the Fall and she could return to her mom for six months during the spring, this cycle repeated. This is how the seasons Fall and Spring came to be.
- The purpose of the myth, Demeter and Her Daughter Persephone, is to explain how the seasons Fall and Spring came to be. This proves that a mother and daughter bond is unbreakable.
