Im skared. I got my rabits foot and my lucky penny and my horse shoe.
Charlie took a series of personality and intelligence tests that completely confused him and caused him to become upset with himself. His adult school teacher, Ms. Kinnian, recommended him to be used in the experiment the tests were for.
I am sorry to say the results must stand. I am grateful for the little bit that I here add to the knowledge of the function of the human mind.
Before the operation, Charlie completed one more test with a white mouse named Algernon who had been given the same operation. Together, they both raced through a maze and Algernon won each time. Charlie began to get frustrated again, but later in the novel, he became best friends with Algernon.
Im going away from New York for good.
Dr. Strauss and Dr. Nemur have officially chosen Charlie for the experiment. It's the day of the operation, and Charlie is super nervous. Charlie's one hope is to just be smart after the operation.
After the surgery, Charlie is a completely new person. His IQ has exploded, but he's become less friendly and expecting people to know a whole lot. After his friend, Algernon past away, Charlie was determind to figure out what happened and what will happen to him.
Once Charlie learns that the operation results only last for a short time and before then Charlie will forget that it ever happened, he decides to leave New York for good. He finishes his progress reports with a final entry stating that he wants to go somewhere where no one will know that he was once a genius and now he's not.
